Long wristlets are required for certification to Project FIRES. They prevent any
protective gap at the glove to coat cuff interface. The appendix of NFPA 1971 recommends
that wristlets feature a thumbhole or a bartack to create a thumbhole to ensure
protection when arms are raised overhead. Unlike competitive wristlets, which require
cutting (and thus destabilizing) the knit wristlet material to create the thumbhole,
Morning Pride offers the Tabbed Long Wristlet (patented) as a custom option. This
concept allows us to create a thumb locator with Nomex tabbing WITHOUT cutting into
the knit of the wristlet itself. This new development solves the very high frequency
problem previously noted with long wristlets; knit running and unraveling. We believe
it is the ONLY adequately field serviceable long wristlet on the market!! Because
bulky, reinforced stitching is not required with the Tabbed Long Wristlet between
the hand and the thumb, it is also more comfortable than competitive products. When
long wristlets are ordered, the tabbed system will be provided on a standard basis.
